About IMI Fire Doors

IMI Fire Doors was founded on a simple principle: fire door work should be carried out by people who understand joinery and carpentry, not just compliance paperwork. Based in Canterbury, Kent, we bring over 40 years of combined joinery and construction experience to every fire door project we undertake, from modern residential developments to Grade I listed heritage properties.

We’re approved by UK Fire Door Training for both fire door installation and inspection work, BRE Training for fire door installation, are proud members of Fire Aware, and our joiners hold accreditation from the British Woodworking Federation. These credentials reflect our commitment to professional standards in an industry where quality varies significantly. This isn’t just regulatory box-ticking; it’s life-safety work that deserves to be done properly.

Our project portfolio includes the Dover Discovery Centre, where we installed 170 doors, including 86 fire door sets, during the building’s £7.5 million renovation, and joinery work at Dover Castle, one of Kent’s most significant heritage landmarks. These projects reflect our capability to deliver large-scale commercial installations while maintaining the precision and attention to detail that complex building environments demand.

We serve property owners across Kent, Southeast London, and the wider Southeast region, providing fire door installation, surveys, and maintenance services. Our approach combines technical expertise with honest advice — helping clients achieve compliance while delivering fire doors that actually work as intended.
